OFFICERS' JOB DESCRIPTIONS

2009-2010

CHIEF          

• Coordinate tribal officers
• Establish annual calendar
• Attend Longhouse meetings
• Disseminate information from Longhouse and other meetings
• Ensure that tribe is prepared for all aspects of campouts
• Oversee enrollment of new members
• A source of inspiration to the tribe

MEDICINE MAN   

• Assistant to Chief in all aspects
• Takes over Chief position in April

TALLY KEEPER   

• Preparer of all paperwork – Quarterly roster, meeting minutes, meeting schedule (All submitted to the chief, quarterly)
• Ensures that tribal roster is current and updated

WAMPUM BEAR    Oversees all financial responsibilities          

• Ensures all dues are paid to the YMCA
• Ensures all dues are paid and current to the tribe $100 semi-annually
• Ensures all monies are paid for campouts
• Reimburses tribal members for expenditures (collects receipts)
• Emails cash position to Chief - monthly

PROPERTY KEEPER       

• Accountable for tribe’s possessions including: Tents, banners, flags, torches, grills, supplies, etc (does not have to house them himself)
• Ensures property is clean and in good working condition
• Designates and coordinates so that appropriate property is brought to campouts

FOOD & BEVERAGE COORDINATOR           

• Ensures appropriate food (and drinks) are supplied for in meetings
• Designates and manages team to supply food for campouts – breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks & drinks

INVITATION COORDINATOR              

• Ensures that an invitation is developed and distributed for each in meeting
• Ensures that an appropriate invitation is prepared for campouts

SKIT COORDINATOR - Accountable for all aspects of skit performance

• Type of skit
• Materials
• Preparation
• Presentation
• On site management – If not attending, designation a responsible person

CLEAN UP COORDINATOR      

• Ensures appropriate clean up at ALL meeting
• Coordinates and manages clean up team at campouts for breakfast, lunch, dinner and leaving the camp site
• If is not going to be present at any event, designates a tribe member to be responsible

WEB SITE COORDINATOR      

• Develops all aspects of Chippewa web site
• Ensures that Chippewa web site is current & functional
• Coordinates with Wampum Bear so that tribe is current with web hosting financial obligations
